Identified - Related to an update to our DHCP system that took place yesterday, we have discovered a persistent issue that is causing services to some customers with legacy static IP's to go offline every 4-8 hours after renewal. This will mostly affect long-standing business customers in the Charlottesville core.

We have made adjustments to the DHCP configuration to mitigate symptoms but not all are retroactive; if an IP lease was acquired prior to the changes tonight the issue may occur again.

If your service was impacted by this and goes offline again, another reboot of your router and modem should be effective and keep it online for longer than previously. Our apologies for the inconvenience as we continue to work to modernize portions of the old fiber network in Charlottesville.

Update - Although Dominion Energy is still dealing with power issues in the area, some of the power to our impacted equipment has now been restored. We've also setup a generator to provide temporary power to areas which have not. That being said, not all but the majority of our impacted customers should be back online for now. If you are still without service, please try power-cycling your equipment (Ting ONT modem & router) to see if that helps, and if not, then it means your service is still impacted by the power outages in the area but we expect those to be resolved soon.
